Yuhi-no-taki Falls (夕日の滝)

Flow of the course

About this spot

This waterfall has a 23-meter drop and is 5 meters wide, and legend says Kintaro took his first bath here. It's said to be named for how beautifully it catches the evening sun, and in autumn, the combination of colorful leaves and spray is spectacular. The streamside path, about a 15-minute walk from the Jizodo bus stop, is perfect for a mountain-village stroll through fallen leaves.

Tips

Part of the path to the falls is unpaved. Wear comfortable walking shoes, and hold small children's hands as you walk.
