About this spot

This large maple tree, roughly 20 meters tall with a trunk about 1.3 meters thick, stands along Prefectural Road 78 (near Yagurasawa 2393) at the fork toward Ashigara Pass. Though it's a single tree, its branches spread with commanding presence, and looking up reveals a sky full of autumn color. According to the city, it typically colors around November, but please check Minamiashigara City's official autumn-leaves information for the exact best-viewing period. There is a parking lot, so you can visit by car as well.
