About this spot

A local winter tradition in which Harodo Street and Kurofune Nakadori in front of Keikyu Kurihama Station are decorated with illuminations. Viewing is free, and last year the lights began in late November 2025 (the end date is unconfirmed from primary sources). The warm, down-to-earth glow unique to a station-front shopping street makes it easy to enjoy alongside shopping or a meal. Since the schedule and lighting hours for 2026-27 have not yet been announced, please check official information from the local tourism association or shopping street before heading out.

Tips

The shopping street has many restaurants, so it's a good idea to decide where to have dinner while enjoying the lights. Since the area connects directly to the station, you can feel safe heading home even after dark.

Right after sunset. The atmosphere is best just as the lights begin to come on along the shopping street
