About this spot

A winter illumination event held in the plaza (promenade) in front of the east side of Yamato Station. It is typically held from late November to early February each year, and last year it ran from November 26, 2025 to February 4, 2026. The tree-lined street right outside the station is wrapped in light, and the appeal lies in how easily a train trip turns straight into viewing the lights. The schedule and lighting hours for the 2026-27 season have not yet been announced, so please check the official website before heading out.

Tips

Since it's right in front of the station, there is pedestrian traffic. The flat road makes it easy to view even with a stroller, but please enjoy the lights from a spot that doesn't block foot traffic.

Best time to visit

Early evening right after the lights turn on. The time when the sky still has a blue tint makes for great photos
