Kurokawa Higashi Farming Estate (黒川東営農団地)
Flow of the course
About this spot
A potato-digging event run by farmers on the Kurokawa Higashi Farming Estate in Asao Ward, Kawasaki City. It typically runs from early September to the end of October (ending earlier if reservations fill up or the harvest runs out). In September it's held Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays only; from October it runs daily. The per-plant digging price is 300 yen for sweet potatoes and 250 yen for peanuts (current price as listed on the official website). Pull the vine and dig the soil, and big sweet potatoes pop up one after another, making it enjoyable even for small children. Having parking and restrooms is also reassuring for families.
