About this spot

This hilltop park, adjacent to Zama Shrine, overlooks the Sagami River. Also known as a cherry blossom spot, its scenic grounds offer a panoramic view of the Mt. Oyama and Tanzawa mountain ranges as well as the Sagami River (restrooms available in the park). The evening begins with the sun setting behind the mountains, and after sundown, families can leisurely enjoy watching the city lights come on across the far bank of the Sagami River.

Tips

It's breezy and cold on the hilltop, so put on a jacket before sunset time. Once it gets dark, watch out for uneven ground and slopes in the park, and choose a well-lit route on your way back.
