About this spot

A cape jutting into the sea at Kamakura. The park here (Kamakura Kaihin Park, Inamuragasaki area (鎌倉海浜公園稲村ガ崎地区)) is, in principle, open year-round, 24 hours a day, with free admission. Known as a spot for sunset views, with Enoshima (江の島) right in front and, on clear days, the silhouette of Mt. Fuji, after sunset it transforms into a night view as lights come on along Enoshima and the Shonan (湘南) coastline. With a parking lot and restrooms, it is a cape that is easy for families to visit.

Tips

The cape has strong sea winds, and it gets cold quickly after sunset, so dress warmly. The paths and stairs become dark, so use a light to see your footing, and view the scenery from inside the fence. On days with high waves, please stay away from the water's edge.

Best time to visit

Around sunset. The time between when the sun sets and when the lights come on at Enoshima is the most spectacular.
