About this spot

Located on a detached precinct of Shoren-in Temple, this is a viewpoint offering a panoramic view of Kyoto city from its Great Stage. Viewing hours are 9:00-17:00 (last entry 16:30); admission is 600 yen. It sits along the Higashiyama Driveway on the way to the observatory.

Tips

Since the last entry is 16:30, aim to arrive before 16:00 at the latest. Continue further along the same Higashiyama Driveway to reach the observatory.
