About this spot

A planetarium within the grounds of Muko Shrine, equipped with a 40cm-aperture reflector telescope. Holds a regular astronomical observation event on the third Saturday of every month (April 2026 to March 2027), from 19:00 to 20:00 during October to March. Admission is free for residents, workers, and students of Muko City and for young children; for those from outside the city, adults pay 700 yen and elementary/junior high school students pay 350 yen. Advance application required (via an in-person application form, return postcard, or the Kyoto Prefecture joint online application system), with a capacity of 50 people per session by lottery.
