About this spot

A Kure City-run astronomical observatory equipped with one of Japan's largest Maksutov telescopes (42 cm aperture). Regular observation sessions are held every Saturday from 19:30 to 21:00 (closed Mondays, Tuesdays, and year-end/New Year holidays). Admission is 200 yen for adults and 100 yen for elementary and junior high school students, with parking for 100 cars (free). Located on Kamikamagari Island, where there is little surrounding city light, it offers views of the moon, planets, nebulae, and star clusters.
