About this spot

An astronomical observation facility inside Minami-Ohira Dam Lake Park. A twin-dome facility equipped with two telescopes with 35cm and 40cm apertures, open to the public mainly on the 2nd and 4th Fridays from April to November (2nd and 3rd Fridays in August). Hours are 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm (7:30 pm to 9:30 pm from May to August).

Tips

Please bring a flashlight. There is no indoor lighting, and eating, drinking, and smoking are not allowed. The event is held rain or shine; an indoor astronomy class is held instead during severe weather.
