At Hotel Tateyama, located in Murodo at an elevation of 2,450m, star-watching sessions are led by instructors from the Toyama Astronomical Society. After a lecture at the ‘Tea Lounge Rindo,’ participants move to the Murodo Terminal observation deck for telescope viewing.

Tips

🚨Vehicles on the Alpine Route only run until evening, so descending after sunset is not possible. Participation requires staying overnight in the Murodo area. In bad weather, the event may be cancelled or limited to the lecture only.

Best time to visit

Typically held from May to August. Start time is around 8:00 PM (8:30 PM on some days). Since the dates vary by year, please check the official website.
