
2026 Namiha Beach Full-Day Course
A full-day course to enjoy the Wakaura area, centered on Namiha Beach in Wakayama City, which opens from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. from July 1 (Wednesday) to August 31 (Monday), 2026. In the morning, first climb the 231 stone steps at Kishumidera (紀三井寺), an ancient temple of the Western Thirty-Three Kannon Pilgrimage Sites, and visit the temple grounds known for cherry blossoms and panoramic views. Next, pray for safe travels at Wakauratenmangu (和歌浦天満宮), which overlooks Wakanoura Bay. For lunch, head to the Kuroshio Market at Wakayama Marina City. Watch a spectacular mackerel cutting demonstration and enjoy fresh seafood delicacies. The climax is Namiha Beach in the afternoon. Swimming is free, and the beach is equipped with showers (fee-based), restrooms, shops, and an AED, making it safe for families. Parking is available from 620 yen per day. You can splash in the shallow water, relax on the sandy beach, and enjoy summer to the fullest until 5 p.m. Bring your swimsuit and towel, and head to the Wakaura sea!
