2026 Suo Tenjin Fireworks Festival: A Full-Day Course
A full-day course centered on the Suo Tenjin Fireworks Festival, held Saturday, August 8, 2026, in Shuto-cho, Iwakuni City, Yamaguchi Prefecture. At midday, cross Kintai Bridge, one of Japan's three great bridges, then enjoy a historical stroll through the adjoining Kikko Park. In the afternoon, ride the ropeway up to Iwakuni Castle for a panoramic view of the castle town. In the evening, enjoy dinner at the shopping street near Kintai Bridge, then drive to the venue in Shuto-cho. As the sun sets, the Shimada River riverbed around Takamori Tenmangu Shrine fills with spectators, and from 7:45pm fireworks launch into the night sky.
