
2026 Mikasa Hokkai Bon Odori - Full-Day Experience Course
A full-day course highlighting the Mikasa Hokkai Bon Odori festival (August 13-15, 2026, first day August 13, venue: Central Park) held in Mikasa, a city once thriving from coal mining and now known for its ammonite fossils. During the day, explore precious ammonite fossils at Mikasa City Museum and trace Hokkaido's railway history at Mikasa Railway Village. Take a break in the spacious grounds of Crawford Park, then enjoy Genghis Khan BBQ and local cuisine at Michi no Eki Mikasa roadside station. At 5 PM, when drums echo through Central Park, the bon odori circle expands to celebrate Mikasa's summer night. Spend a full day of learning and festival celebration, experiencing the history of coal mining, railways, and fossil discoveries.
