
2026 Heijokyo Festival One-Day Experience Course
A one-day course to fully enjoy the first day of the "Heijokyo Festival" (held on August 22-23, 2026), set at Heijo Palace Ruins, the symbol of the ancient capital Nara. During the day, experience the quietness of the ancient capital at the beautifully designed Yakushi-ji Temple with its Hakuho architecture and Toshodai-ji Temple associated with Ganjin Wajo, then feel the grandeur of Heijo Palace at the reconstructed Great Audience Hall. After taking a break at the Heijo Palace Guide Hall, head to Suzaku Gate Plaza from 5 PM onwards to enjoy the Heijokyo Festival. A day to enjoy a summer festival surrounded by food stalls at the ruins of an ancient Nara-period capital.
