2026 Wood Hirashima Park Splash Pool Full-Day Course

A summer one-day course starring the Wood Hirashima Park Splash Pool at Wood Hirashima Park, inside the Wood Combinat area of Hita City (日田市). It is open from Wednesday, July 1 to Monday, August 31, 2026, and free to use. The splash pool is closed on cleaning days (July 10, 17, 24 and 31, and August 7, 12, 21 and 28), so checking before you fix your date is reassuring. The splash pool is a shallow area for small children, at just the right depth for a first taste of water play. The park has play equipment including fitness apparatus, two lawn plazas (A and B), a gazebo and two restroom buildings, with parking for 46 cars. Benches and the gazebo let parents take turns resting while keeping watch. In the morning, learn at the Edo-period academy site Kangien (咸宜園跡) why Hita came to be called a town of learning, then visit the Tenryo Hita Museum (天領日田資料館) to see life in the shogunate-territory era. Have lunch along the streets of Mameda-machi (豆田町), and in the afternoon it is finally time for water play. It is a free, wide-open summer spot beloved by local families.
