About this spot
A spacious park adjacent to the south side of Sankeien. A steam locomotive D51 is preserved on the grounds near the lawn square, delighting railway enthusiast children. There is also the "Shanghai-Yokohama Friendship Garden," a Chinese-style garden gifted by Shanghai, allowing you to enjoy exotic charm while strolling. It's perfect for spreading a picnic sheet in the shade and enjoying your meal leisurely.
Tips
There are covered rest areas and restrooms throughout the park. Since there are no shops, it's best to bring drinks and your picnic lunch. The steam locomotive D51 makes a great spot for commemorative photos.
Best time to visit
Allow just over 1 hour. Arriving late morning makes it easier to secure a shaded spot on the lawn.
