About this spot

Zushi's signature beach, shallow far offshore and gentle in its waves. Toward evening the sky and sea turn orange, and the silhouettes of Enoshima and Mt. Fuji rise out of a magnificent view. A slow walk along the sand, where the monument to 'Season of the Sun' (太陽の季節) stands, makes for a romantic close to the day.

Tips

The key to success is checking the sunset time before you set out. The evening sea breeze is chilly, so do not forget a jacket. The beach is wide, so you can walk without worrying about crowds.

Allow 1 hour; the magic hour starting 30 minutes before sunset is the best time
