A Grand 360-Degree Panorama from the Observatory—View Mount Fuji and Tokyo Skytree
About this spot
A free observation deck standing at the ruins of Masugata Castle, a mountain fortress from the Kamakura period. From the elevator-accessible deck, you'll find a sweeping 360-degree view of the high-rise buildings of Shinjuku, Tokyo Skytree, and on clear days, even Mount Fuji. Also famous as a cherry blossom viewing spot, it's the perfect way to cap off your day with spectacular scenery.
Tips
The observation deck has an elevator, so you can go up with your stroller. The deck can be windy, so bringing a light jacket is recommended. Benches and cherry tree shade are available in the plaza.
Best time to visit
Allow 40 minutes; late afternoon offers clearer air and visibility for distant views.
