An ancient shrine watching over Manazuru Harbor, renowned as the stage for "Kibune Festival," one of Japan's three great ship festivals. Climbing the 108 stone steps from the harbor brings you to a shrine building nestled among trees, and looking back, you can see panoramic views of Manazuru's sea and port town. Revered by locals for generations due to its blessings for maritime safety and prosperous business.
Tips
The 108 stone steps are somewhat steep, so take your time using the handrail. After your visit, consider stopping for seafood lunch at Manazuru Harbor before heading to Yugawara in the afternoon for a pleasant transition.
