Rest on the lawn and take a seaside stroll to Awa-no-Saki Lighthouse
About this spot
A free-admission prefectural park spanning the eastern half of the island. Wide open lawns, a Cormorant observation deck, and the charming Awa-no-Saki Lighthouse modeled after the Miura daikon radish are the main highlights. Dramatic cliffs offer panoramic views of the Pacific Ocean and the Boso Peninsula, while from winter to early spring, hundreds of thousands of daffodils perfume the air with their sweet fragrance.
Tips
The park paths are paved and stroller-friendly. The seaside observation deck can be windy, so bring an extra jacket for children. The shop is small, so bring your own drinks.
Best time to visit
Allow 1 hour; the afternoon is also relatively uncrowded
