An artificial lake created by the Ogochi Dam, Tokyo's water supply source. The top of the embankment serves as an open observation walking path with panoramic views of the lake and Okutama's surrounding mountains. The nearby "Water and Greenery Interaction Hall" offers free learning about dam mechanics and Okutama's nature, with an on-site dining area convenient for lunch breaks.
Tips
About 15 minutes by bus from Okutama Station. The dam embankment has no shade and strong sun exposure, so a hat is recommended on sunny days. Early lunch at the interaction hall's dining area is suggested.
Best time to visit
Approximately 1.5 hours for exploration and lunch. Around midday is relatively relaxed.
