A four-minute aerial stroll from the base station straight to the summit
About this spot
A ropeway that whisks you straight up Mt. Nokogiri—elevation 329 meters—in about four minutes from the base station in Kanaya to the summit station. Below you spread Tokyo Bay and the harbor town of Kanaya; on clear days, you can see all the way to the Miura Peninsula across the bay and even Mt. Fuji. The observation deck at the summit station offers spectacular views, making it perfect to enjoy the scenery before you begin walking.
Tips
Operates at 15-minute intervals; frequency increases on busy days. A round-trip ticket is convenient, but if you're confident in your fitness, the downhill Sharikidō hiking route is also recommended. Bring a jacket for the summit, as it can get windy.
Best time to visit
About 40 minutes including round-trip and observation. Early morning is less crowded and offers clearer views.
