The vermilion twin arch bridge spanning the Yoro River is one of the valley's most picturesque sights. Cross the bridge and climb the stone steps beyond it to reach Rikkoku-ji Temple, known as Shusse Kannon (the Kannon of Success), a beloved spot for praying for good fortune, said to be where Minamoto no Yoritomo once prayed for a comeback.
Tips
It's about a 30-minute walk from the station, including some stretches along a road for cars, so wear comfortable walking shoes. Looking down at the river surface from atop the bridge is the classic photo composition.
Best time to visit
Stay about 30 minutes. On weekends during the autumn leaf season, there can even be a line to take photos.
