Leisurely appreciate Boso's finest waterfall from the waterfall-viewing trail
About this spot
A drop of approximately 30 meters cascading gently over rock faces for a total span of some 100 meters, Awamatanoki Falls is Boso's most celebrated waterfall. Rather than a thunderous roar, its elegant silken flow is its hallmark, and a nearby hiking trail descends close to the pool for intimate viewing. Autumn showcases the spectacular duet of waterfalls and crimson foliage.
Tips
Bus service from Yoro Valley Station is convenient but infrequent—check schedules ahead of time. The descent to the falls is steep, so watch your footing.
Best time to visit
Allow 1–1.5 hours. Weekend traffic during autumn foliage season is almost guaranteed
