Next stop: Learn About Tidal Flat Creatures Through Hands-On ExhibitsAbout this spot
A seaside park facing Sanbanze, a precious tidal flat remaining at the innermost part of Tokyo Bay. When the tide goes out, you can encounter small creatures like crabs and shellfish in the tidal flats, and on clear days, views from the observation deck extend all the way to Mt. Fuji and Tokyo Skytree. The spring clam-digging season brings large crowds of families.
Tips
Tidal flat activities require long boots or marine shoes and a change of clothes. During clam-digging season, admission fees apply, so check the low tide times in advance. Parking fees are charged.
Best time to visit
Allow 45 minutes. Timing your visit for low tide will make observation more rewarding.
