Descend Yuuyake Dandan and enjoy fresh fried menchi-katsu
About this spot
A shopping street spanning about 170 meters with approximately 60 shops, brimming with downtown atmosphere. The famous freshly fried menchi-katsu, baked donuts, and tsukudani (seasoned condiments) offer endless temptations for street food. The entrance staircase "Yuuyake Dandan" is a famous sunset spot and the symbol of the street.
Tips
Enjoy the food in front of the shop where you bought it, rather than eating while walking—it's considered polite. Some shops are cash-only, so keep change handy. Bringing an eco-bag is convenient for carrying home ready-made dishes.
Best time to visit
Plan for 1-2 hours. Weekends around noon see long lines; visiting right after opening is more comfortable.
