Leisurely Stroll Around the Pond at the Site of Oshi Castle's Outer Moat
About this spot
A civic park centered on a large pond that preserves the remains of Oshi Castle's outer moat. Sakura and willow trees extend their branches over the water's edge, and children are captivated by the sight of ducks and carp. You can relax on the grassy lawn, and near the end of summer, the pond is known to be adorned with the blue-violet flowers of water hyacinths.
Tips
The park grounds are flat and easy to navigate with a stroller. There are few shops, so bring your own drinks. Local zelly fry shops dot the surrounding area—perfect for lunch or a snack while exploring.
Best time to visit
Allow 30–60 minutes. A morning walk by the water is refreshing.
