Located adjacent to Sakitama Kofun Park, this museum permanently displays the National Treasure "Gold-Inscribed Iron Sword" excavated from Inari-yama Kofun. The 115-character inscription in gold inlay is a first-class historical record conveying ancient Japan to the present day and can be observed up close through glass. The museum is rich in excavated artifacts including clay figurines (haniwa) and curved jewels (magatama), perfect for understanding what you've seen in the burial mound tour.
Tips
The exhibits can be toured in 30–40 minutes. Note that the museum closes on Mondays. Hands-on experiences like magatama-making have limited dates, so check the official information in advance. Haniwa souvenirs are popular.

Allow 40–60 minutes. Late afternoon before closing is relatively quiet.
