About this spot

An ancient shrine founded approximately 1,300 years ago, beloved as the god of baseball due to its name reading 'yakyu' (baseball). Unique ema (votive plaques) shaped like baseball bats and special amulets are sure to delight kids who love baseball. After your visit, enjoy a yakitori lunch with miso-glazed sauce—a specialty unique to Higashimatsuyama, the yakitori capital of Japan.

Tips

The grounds are flat and stroller-friendly. Higashimatsuyama-style yakitori features pork head meat with miso sauce. Few restaurants serve lunch, so check ahead.

Plan for 30 minutes to 1 hour. You can worship at a leisurely pace even during lunch time
