Mini-Hike Along the Riverside Promenade to a Three-Tiered Waterfall

About this spot

Considered Shiobara's most scenic waterfall, featuring three tiers spanning approximately 130 meters. The elegant cascade, likened to a dragon ascending to heaven, is the main attraction. The mini-hike along the riverside promenade is popular, with smaller waterfalls dotting the path, including Kazoe Falls (風挙の滝). Surrounded by forest's negative ions, conversation flows naturally between you and your companion.

Tips

From the entrance to the waterfall is about 20 minutes one-way along the riverside. Sneakers are essential as there are rocky areas and covered walkways. Cool and refreshing even in summer, and you can view the falls up close from the observation deck.

Best time to visit

Allow 40-60 minutes round trip. Morning light shines beautifully on the falls.
