About this spot

A three-tiered waterfall said to be Shiobara's finest, about 130m long overall. Its elegant flow, likened to a dragon ascending to the heavens, is the highlight. The little hike to reach it along the streamside trail is also popular, passing smaller falls such as Fukyo Falls along the way. Wrapped in the forest's negative ions, conversation flows easily too.

Tips

It's about a 20-minute walk one way along the stream from the entrance to the falls. There are rocky sections and covered walkways, so sneakers are a must. It stays cool even in summer, and you can look up at the falls close up from the observation deck.

Best time to visit

Allow 40 to 60 minutes round trip. In the morning, sunlight streams in and the falls look especially beautiful.
