Family photos at the vermillion-painted arched bridge with hot spring steam drifting. A scenic spot for spring greenery and autumn foliage
About this spot
A vermillion-painted arched bridge crossing the walking path from Ikaho Shrine toward the hot spring source. Surrounded by Japanese maple and hackberry trees, both the spring greenery and autumn foliage are spectacular. This is Ikaho's most picturesque spot, and the bridge is often lit up during the autumn foliage season. Family photos taken against the vermillion railings become your most treasured travel memory.
Tips
A gentle downhill walk of about 10 minutes from the shrine. The return is uphill, so the older generation can take the leisurely path along the hot spring town street.
Best time to visit
20–30 minutes required. Autumn foliage weekends can be crowded
