Pray for your family's health at the top of the stone steps. Also famous for blessings regarding fertility and good relationships
About this spot
An ancient shrine dedicated to the deities of hot springs and medicine, enshrined at the summit after climbing all 365 stone steps. The grounds overlook the mountains of Jōshū and are surrounded by trees, offering a serene atmosphere in contrast to the bustle of the stone step street. Perfect for three-generation visits, it's known not only for prayers for family health but also for blessings regarding fertility and good relationships.
Tips
The final stone steps to the main hall are somewhat steep, so the older generation should take their time using the handrails. Shrine seals may be pre-written copies.
Best time to visit
20–30 minutes required. Afternoon light filtering through the trees is beautiful
