About this spot
A large gravity dam that holds back the Watarase Gorge, with observation areas developed along the lakeside. The grand panorama of the gorge seen from above the dam's wall and Kusaki Lake surrounded by mountains makes a perfect finale to your journey. Dam cards are popular with children too.
Tips
Dam cards are distributed at the management office (note the distribution hours). It's just a few minutes by car from Tomihiro Art Museum, so visiting both sites together is efficient.
Best time to visit
About 40 minutes for viewing. The time just before sunset offers spectacular scenery.
