About this spot
A large gravity dam that holds back the Watarase Gorge, with an observation space set up on the lakeshore. The gorge you look down on from atop the dam body and the grand panorama of Lake Kusaki surrounded by mountains make it a perfect way to end the trip. Getting a dam card is also popular with kids.
Tips
Dam cards are handed out at the management office (note the distribution hours). It's just a few minutes by car from the Tomihiro Museum, so visiting both together is efficient.
Best time to visit
About 40 minutes for a visit. The time just before sunset offers spectacular views.
