Morning pilgrimage to this power-spot shrine, surrounded by massive rocks and towering cedar trees

About this spot

An ancient shrine with approximately 1,400 years of history, where the shrine buildings stand impressively guarded by massive and oddly-shaped rock formations. The path from the Zuishin Gate to the main shrine winds through a cedar-lined avenue for about 700 meters, passing waterfalls and streams along the way. As you walk, the air becomes increasingly pure—this is one of the Kanto region's most renowned power spots.

Tips

The path features gentle inclines and stone steps, so comfortable walking shoes are recommended. There are no restroom facilities beyond the souvenir shop in front of the main shrine, so it's best to use the facilities near the entrance before beginning your pilgrimage.

Best time to visit

Allow 60-90 minutes for the round-trip pilgrimage. Early morning visits are quiet and highly recommended.
