Early lunch at a long-established shop serving Mizusawa udon, one of Japan's three great udon noodles
About this spot
A flagship establishment along the "Mizusawa Udon Street" in front of Mizusawa Kannon Temple at the foot of Ikaho. Hand-pulled udon noodles with a strong chew and a glossy, translucent appearance are the specialty, traditionally served cold on a bamboo mat. The signature mushroom tempura pairs perfectly and is ideal for refueling during your drive.
Tips
Lines are almost certain around noon on weekends. Arrive just after opening or between 10-11 AM for an early lunch with minimal wait times, giving you more flexibility for afternoon sightseeing at the lake. Check the restaurant's closed days in advance.
Best time to visit
Allow 45-60 minutes for dining. On weekends, arriving just after opening is your best bet.
