A long-established udon restaurant founded in the Meiji era. The specialty 'Oni-himokawa' is an impressively wide noodle that fills the entire bowl, and its soft, smooth texture is said to be easy for children to eat. This accomplished restaurant has won consecutive championships in competitions determining Japan's best udon, attracting fans from across the country. Takeout udon noodles are also available at the shop.
Tips
Weekends guarantee long lines, so arriving right after opening is your best bet. You can request small serving dishes for children. Use waiting time to explore the surrounding castle town.
