Pray for your family's healthy growth at the "Child-Nurturing Donryu" temple
About this spot
A renowned Jodo-sect temple with connections to Tokugawa Ieyasu, affectionately known as "Child-Nurturing Donryu," where many families come to pray for their children's healthy growth. The dignified Kichijo Gate and the spectacular Garyumatsu (Reclining Dragon Pine), a notable tree spreading its branches close to the ground, are impressive, and the serene temple grounds are perfect for a leisurely walk.
Tips
The temple grounds have many gravel paths, so a stroller may be difficult to push in some areas. Prepare small change for offerings and enjoy learning about proper bowing etiquette with your child.
Best time to visit
Allow 30-40 minutes. Early evening offers peaceful worship.
