A tourism hub in front of Yahiko Shrine where local vegetables and Niigata gourmet food stalls gather in a lively plaza. Everything from noodles and rice bowls to sweets is available for casual selection. It's fun for couples to each order their favorite dish and share with each other. The free foot bath and hand bath fed by hot spring water are wonderful, making it the perfect spot to rest after your shrine visit and mountain walk.

Tips

Bringing a small hand towel is convenient for the foot bath. Popular items at the market may sell out early in the afternoon, so purchase souvenirs when you find them. Each stall has different closing days, so it's wise to check in advance.

Best time to visit

Plan for approximately 1 hour 30 minutes. The food stalls are bustling during lunch hours.
