About this spot
A beautiful beech forest in Matsuyama with trees approximately 100 years old standing densely together, named "Bijin Forest" (beautiful woman forest) for the graceful stance of their trunks. The landscape created by slender, whitish trunks and a green canopy is like a painting, changing its expression with each season—fresh green, deep green, autumn foliage, and snowy landscapes—making it a renowned photography spot. A small pond within the forest is also popular, with the beech grove reflected in the water being a favorite composition. Afternoon dappled sunlight filtering through the trees creates an ideal location for couple portrait photography.
Tips
The forest path is unpaved soil, so wear comfortable hiking shoes. It can become muddy after rain. Free parking is available. Visiting the adjacent "Kyoro-ro" nature museum offers displays about satoyama nature. Insect repellent is useful for comfort during summer.

Approximately 1 hour required. Afternoon slanted dappled sunlight is ideal for photography.
