Tsuruga Port once flourished as the gateway to Europe and is known as the "Humanitarian Port" where Jewish refugees with "Visas for Life" landed during wartime, and Polish orphans rescued from distant lands came ashore. Through historical documents and testimonies, the museum shares the touching stories of how the people of Tsuruga warmly welcomed those who arrived. The restored period buildings are also worth seeing, creating a space where you can experience the history of the port firsthand. It's a place where children can learn and contemplate the meaning of kindness alongside adults.

Indoor exhibits allow for a leisurely visit. Some displays are text-heavy, so adults can help younger children understand and enjoy the content better. The museum is within walking distance of Akarenga Warehouse and complements a harbor stroll around Kanagasaki Green Space.
