A spacious forest park along the Oshirakawa River where you can leisurely experience the nature of Hakushu, the famous water region. The grounds feature a water feature drawing from the clear stream and forest walking trails, where strolling in dappled sunlight eases the fatigue of gorge walking. Within the park is the day-use hot spring 'Oshirano Yu,' where mineral-rich reddish-brown waters are perfect for a rest after mountain exploration. With a shop and café on site, this is an ideal adult relaxation spot where you can spend the remaining daylight hours peacefully.
Tips
Park admission is free and there is ample parking. If using Oshirano Yu, bring a towel (rentals are available). The waterside gets busy in summer, so head to the forest walking trails for a more peaceful experience. Insect repellent is recommended for comfort.
Best time to visit
Approximately 1 hour 15 minutes. The late afternoon forest light becomes soft and pleasant for walking.
