It has a unique heritage, descended from the Azumi clan, a maritime people, making this mountain shrine unusually connected to boats and the sea. The grounds, nestled in a grove of cedar trees, have a refreshingly clear atmosphere, and a leisurely walk along the approach path naturally calms the spirit. Stone wayside guardian statues typical of Azumino dot the grounds, making this an ideal spot to pray for family health and safe travels.
Tips
Free parking available, with stroller-friendly approach path over pebbles. Located just a short walk from Hotaka Station, so enjoying Shinshu soba noodles at nearby restaurants after your visit is recommended. Goshuin (shrine seals) and cute talismans are popular.
Best time to visit
Approximately 45 minutes. Morning visits offer a quiet atmosphere for peaceful prayer.
