A Classic Viewing Spot on the Bridge Spanning the Matsukawa River—Capture Commemorative Photos of Hakuba Sanzan

About this spot

A bridge spanning the Matsukawa River that flows through Hakuba Village, renowned for its views of the Hakuba mountain range. The composition capturing the river flow and snow-capped Hakuba Sanzan in a single frame is one of Hakuba's signature landscapes, beloved by many photography enthusiasts. The striking contrast between the white riverbed of snow-melt water and the ridge line rising against the blue sky is breathtakingly beautiful. Since you can easily access it by car, it's a perfect photo stop on your way down from Iwatake.

Tips

Always photograph from the designated walkway. Bring a jacket as wind flows down from the mountain across the bridge. Even on clear days, clouds may cover the summit, so photograph when the mountain looks best.
