A rare museum nationwide dedicated entirely to hot springs, covering everything from how hot springs emerge to their mineral qualities, hot spring rankings, and bathing culture. With exhibitions organized from both scientific and cultural perspectives, visiting before or after a stroll through the hot spring town will deepen your appreciation of the area. Outside, there's a walking bath where you can immerse your feet while walking, perfect for a break during your exploration. The compact museum is easy to include in a date without taking up much time.
Tips
Located in the center of the hot spring town and easily accessible on foot. Bring a towel if you plan to try the outdoor walking bath. The museum interior is cool and serves as a great refuge on rainy or hot days.
