About this spot

A unique shrine dedicated to frogs, inspired by the name Gero (ゲロ). The grounds are dotted with frog stone statues and figurines, and the shrine is beloved for its auspicious puns: "safe return" (無事かえる), "rejuvenation" (若がえる), and "money returns" (お金がかえる). Though compact, the grounds have many photogenic spots and are popular stops on hot spring town strolls. Visiting together as a couple makes for memorable photos.

Tips

Quick visits are fine, so combine it with snacking and food stalls. Don't forget small change for offerings. Many souvenir and sweet shops surround the area, making it a convenient starting point for exploring the hot spring town.
