Climb the White Stone Tower and Enjoy a Complete View of Ogaki, City of Water

About this spot

A symbol of Ogaki, known as the site where the Western forces established their headquarters during the Battle of Sekigahara. The four-tiered white stone tower is a reconstructed building that showcases the history of the Battle of Sekigahara and the castle town of Ogaki through displays of armor, maps, and other artifacts. From the top floor, you can survey the entire town of Ogaki and confirm the flow of Suimon River that you'll be exploring. Located in the town center and within walking distance of the station, it's the perfect starting point for your day.

Tips

The stairs inside the castle keep are somewhat steep, so hold small children's hands while viewing. It's recommended to leave strollers at the entrance and go up unencumbered. There is no dedicated parking, so use a nearby coin parking lot or the parking lot on the Ogaki Park side when arriving by car. Combining it with the adjacent Ogaki Park makes transitions nearly effortless.

Best time to visit

Approximately 1 hour required. The castle is less crowded right after opening in the early morning, and the view from the tower is clear and unobstructed.
