Refreshing Snack Break with Water Manju Made from Famous Spring Water
About this spot
An established Japanese confectionery shop located in front of Ogaki Station, known as a premier maker of water manju, the signature confection representing 'City of Water' Ogaki, blessed with abundant groundwater. The water manju with its transparent skin and floating sweetened bean filling inside is best enjoyed chilled with famous spring water—the Ogaki way. The smooth, refreshing taste and gentle sweetness are a comfort to tired feet, and the bite-sized portions are easy for children to enjoy. The shop also displays seasonal confections and Ogaki souvenirs, combining a snack break with souvenir shopping in one place.
Tips
Water manju is a seasonal specialty from spring through summer; outside these seasons, enjoy Kinchoen dumplings and other year-round signature confections. The storefront can get crowded during peak times, so arriving slightly off-peak is recommended for a relaxed visit. Hands can get sticky, so wet wipes are convenient. Being right in front of the station, it's easy to drop by while shopping.
Best time to visit
Approximately 1 hour required. Afternoon snack time is just right for a sweet treat break.
