The iconic slope symbolizing the pottery walking trail and Tokoname's most famous incline. Both sides of the slope are lined with earthenware pipes from the Meiji period and shochu bottles from the early Showa period stacked densely, while the ground is paved with pottery waste materials. The geometric patterns created by the earth-toned walls and round bottles are photogenic from every angle, making this an irresistible subject for photography enthusiasts. Tips

As a popular photo spot, arrive by late morning to avoid crowds. The slope is short but has a steep incline, so watch your footing. Midday is ideal for taking a lunch break at historic house cafés along the trail.

Approximately 30 minutes. Late morning to early afternoon is best for fewer crowds and easier photography.
